Char Dham From Delhi

Char Dham, also known as the "four abodes," is a sacred pilgrimage circuit in India that is comprised of four major Hindu shrines - Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath, and Badrinath. Located in the picturesque state of Uttarakhand in the northern part of India, the Char Dham yatra is believed to wash away one's sins and bring salvation. This holy pilgrimage is considered one of the most important journeys for Hindus, and millions of devotees undertake it every year.

Yamunotri is known for its hot water springs and the Yamuna river, Gangotri for the Ganges river, Kedarnath for the famous Kedarnath temple and Badrinath for the Badrinath temple. Each of the four sites has its own unique significance and is associated with various legends and myths. The Char Dham yatra usually begins in late April or early May and lasts until October or November, when the weather becomes too harsh for travel. The yatra involves trekking and travelling through difficult terrain, which adds to the spiritual experience of the pilgrims.
