1. Physical Fitness & Acclimatization
The air gets thinner as you ascend, and oxygen levels can drop significantly at Kedarnath and Yamunotri. You must start preparing your body at least a month before your travel date.
- Daily Walking: Begin brisk walking for 4-5 kilometers daily. Add uphill walking or stair climbing to build stamina.
- Breathing Exercises: Practice Pranayama (Anulom Vilom, Kapalbhati) to increase your lung capacity.
- Hydration: High altitude causes faster dehydration. Train your body to drink at least 3-4 liters of water a day.

3. Mandatory Registrations
The Uttarakhand Government has made the Yatra e-Pass (Biometric Registration) strictly mandatory for all pilgrims to ensure crowd control and safety.
Without this pass, you will not be allowed to proceed past Rishikesh/Haridwar checkpoints. Additionally, pilgrims aged 50+ are strongly advised to carry a recent health checkup report.
