How to Spot Fake Helicopter Booking Websites

Every year, hundreds of innocent devotees lose their hard-earned money to fake travel agents promising "Confirmed Kedarnath Helicopter Tickets". Here is how you can protect yourself.

The Official Rule

The Government of Uttarakhand has strictly mandated that helicopter tickets for Kedarnath can ONLY be booked through the official IRCTC HeliYatra portal (heliyatra.irctc.co.in). No private agent, company, or third-party website has the authority to issue tickets.

🚩 3 Major Red Flags of a Scam

1. Demanding Payment via UPI/WhatsApp

If an "agent" asks you to send money directly to a personal Google Pay, PhonePe, or WhatsApp number for a confirmed ticket, it is a 100% scam.

2. Unrealistic "VIP" Promises

Scammers often use words like "VIP Quota", "Immediate Confirmation", or "Bypass IRCTC Line". There is no such official quota for the general public.

3. Fake Websites looking like IRCTC

Scammers create websites with names like 'kedarnath-heli.com' or 'irctc-booking-yatra.in'. Always check that the URL exactly matches heliyatra.irctc.co.in.

At Alpine Hikes, we guide our booked clients on how to create their IRCTC accounts and notify them the moment the official booking window opens. We never ask for money for helicopter tickets.
