About the trek
The Valley of Flowers national park sits at 3,658 m in the Bhyundar valley of Chamoli, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for alpine flowers such as vajradanti, marsh marigold and shomalap.
Part of the Nanda Devi Biosphere, it is home to rare animals like the snow leopard, musk deer and blue sheep. The trek also includes the steep, sacred climb to Hemkund Sahib, the highest gurudwara in the world.

Day 1Haridwar to Govindghat
Pick-up around 6 AM and a long drive along the Alaknanda via Devprayag and Joshimath. Dinner and night in Govindghat.

A short drive to Poolna, then an easy-to-moderate climb to Ghangaria with lunch on the trail.

The park opens in the monsoon; the flowers are at their best in July and August.
How hard is the Hemkund Sahib climb?
