About the trek
Dayara Bugyal is a vast high-altitude meadow above Raithal village in Uttarkashi district. In summer it is a rolling green carpet grazed by local herds; from December to March it turns into a wide snowfield — one of the easiest places in Uttarakhand to walk in deep snow.
From the meadow and Bakaria Top you look across to Bandarpunch, Srikanth and Draupadi ka Danda. Short daily walks through oak and rhododendron forest make it a good first Himalayan trek.
